Hemp – what is it, where is it grown and how is it different than marijuana?

All of PurePower’s products are derived exclusively from industrial hemp. Hemp and marijuana are different cultivars of the same plant – the cannabis sativa L. The major difference between hemp and marijuana is that marijuana has been bred to contain high levels of psychoactive compounds. In contrast, hemp does not contain those levels of compounds and will not get you ‘high’ like marijuana. Industrial hemp is already widely used for clothing, biofuels, bioplastics, cosmetics, food and nutritional supplements. And it is increasingly being researched and recognized for its effectiveness as a cover crop to regenerate soil as well as for its health and wellness applications.
PurePower’s hemp is grown in our home state of Colorado, nourished by crisp, clear Rocky Mountain water and lots of sunshine. Our hemp is grown and cultivated by master growers in small batches the way Mother Nature intended.
